Netball

On Tuesday 7th of May the Glen Taylor panthers had their first netball game against Remuera  intermediate. At first we were nervous but once the game started we knew we had to put that aside and just try our best to win, as soon as the buzzer went off we all worked together to get the  ball to our end of the court so our shooters can score and get us a point. Our strategy was to keep passing until the ball in our shooters hands and into the hoop and that’s how we scored 33-1 and won our first netball game of the year.

L.C.S Project

In this photo you can see a beautiful Tongan Kahoa that my partner William and I made for our L.C.S project for this term. We decided to make this Tongan Kahoa because our L.C.S topic for this term was based on the cultural group that we were in and our group was the Tongan group, when the teachers announced what our L.C.S was based on I was clueless because i had no one to work with and we were only allowed to work with people in our cultural group so I decided to work with William. After a bit of discussing, arguing, searching and problems we finally got it done and here I am telling you about.

L.C.S project

For my L.C.S I decided to partner up with William from rm 13 to make a Tongan kahoa because it was the easiest thing to make. We decided to make only one because we wanted time to do our presentation. We’re so excited to see how it all turns out.

Reflection on matariki festival

On Thursday 14th September 2023 Georga and i had a station explaining what we have been learning about for L.C.S. At our station we had a big poster with facts, questions and history of harakeke the questions were a challenge for the kids\adults to test if they were listening. It was so much fun watching the kids\adults run around and look for the hidden harakeke we hid, it made me so proud seeing how much kids ran around with lolly bags with OUR logo on it. I’m sure all the kids had fun at all the station especially ours. At the end of the day i was so tired that i couldn’t thank everyone that came and supported us through out the day. Thank you to my three amazing teachers mrs Fonua, mrs Tupou Fonua and Mr Raj we wouldn’t have been able to do this without you guys, i also wanted to thank my mum for buying everything and anything for my presentation to stand out and be the best.

Matariki carving

In this photo is a piece of plywood with Tupuarangi’s face engraved. It took me two days to pick a design, trace it on the plywood, carve it out and polish it with coconut oil to make it darker. This was the end results
